Why the Internationalization of Higher Education Still Matters

February 21-23, 2022
New Orleans, LA, USA
Celebrating 40 years!

We are committed to holding the 2022 AIEA conference next February (Feb 21-23) in New Orleans.

In 2022, AIEA will be celebrating its 40th anniversary, and we know that our conference is the only one specifically designed and delivered by and for leaders of internationalization in their institutions.

With the increasing rate of vaccination, we are preparing an in-person conference that will be preceded by a series of virtual pre-conference workshops and followed by a virtual symposium. We trust that all our members will be well served and has an opportunity to share and learn, even if they don’t travel to New Orleans.

I am inviting nominations for the conference committee, to be submitted by Friday, June 11.

The conference committee will play its usual role with reviewing proposals and providing suggestions and input to the Conference Chair. Given the international context and the learning from this past year’s virtual conference, members will also be solicited about how the meeting might meet members’ needs, regardless of whether they can travel or not. We know that AIEA members consider the conference as the association’s signature event for all senior leaders in the international education field.

Those selected for the Conference Committee (a commitment through the 2022 Conference) can anticipate at least committing to 10 hours for proposal review plus some on-site involvement for those able to travel to New Orleans. To nominate yourself for the 2022 AIEA conference Committee, please complete the following form where you will be asked to submit a statement of interest (max 250 words), specifically addressing the major issues that you think may affect content and format for the conference, as well as your CV. 2022 Conference Committee Nomination Form
