Congratulations to AIEA Executive Director Darla K. Deardorff on the publicaiton of her most recent book, Demystifying Outcomes Assessment for International Educators: A Practical Approach  (Stylus, 2015). 

AIEA Treasurer Gil Merkx featured on Duke Global for receiving both the Klasek and Rutenber awards at the 2015 AIEA Annual Conference.

AIEA Executive Director Darla K. Deardorff gave a  keynote address at the Learning at Intercultural Intersections Conference at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia. The keynote addressed was mentioned in the article "Innovative International Research Conference in Kamloops" at the Kamloops BC Now website

Congratulations to the following AIEA Member Institutions that received 2015 Andrew Heiskell Awards from the Institute of International Education: Texas Christian University (Internationalizing the Campus); The State University of New York at New Paltz (Study Abroad); and Auburn University (International Partnerships). AIEA member Eric A. Canny  co-presented the NAFSA webinar "Education Abroad Advising and Orientation for the Changing Student,"  focusing on how we can better prepare today's student for a meaningful education abroad experience, utilizing learning theories as an underpinning to the standard Pre-Departure process. 

AIEA member Eric A. Canny authored the Fourth Edition of NAFSA’s Guide to Education Abroad (GEA) chapter on Orientation and Preparation, bringing educational, social media, and online learning theories to the practice of Pre-Departure.

AIEA President Jenifer Cushman was featured in the Ohio University Compass in recognition of her new position at AIEA.

Lyons of the U.S. Department of State have posted a report to discuss international science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) engagement by U.S. higher education institutions (HEI) and the potential implications of such engagement for U.S. science diplomacy. AIEA Executive Director Darla Deardorff authored an article titled Some Thoughts on Assessing Intercultural Competence for the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) blog.

Congratulations to AIEA member Gayle Woodruff, recipient of the Marita Houlihan Award for Distinguished Contributions to the Field of International Education, and to AIEA Member Joy Stevenson, who received the  Homer Higbee Award for Distinguished Service to NAFSA. Both were recognized at the 2014 NAFSA Annual Conference this month.
